WATERTOWN — Police arrested a teacher on charges related to the inappropriate touching of two students.

Stanley Mikrut, 61, was arrested at his home in Southbury residence on a warrant charging him with two counts of Sexual Assault in the fourth degree and two counts of disorderly conduct.

Police said the arrest stemmed from allegations that Mikrut inappropriately touched two Watertown High School students between November 2015 and June 2016.  Mikrut has been a teacher in Watertown for 15 years.

Watertown High School Administration, along with the Superintendent’s Office contacted both Police and DCF.

Mikrut was released after posting a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct . 18.  Mikrut was listed a Special Education teacher on the Watertown High website.
