THOMASTON — A Plymouth, Connecticut man is facing several charges after police said he was arrested three times in under three hours.

It all started around 4:45 p.m. Monday. Police in Thomaston were called to South Main Street for a drunk man abusing an 8-week-old puppy. Animal Control officers also responded to the scene and found Ronald Boivin, 45. He was issued a misdemeanor summons for cruelty to animals and promised to appear in court, police said. The puppy was taken into protective custody.

Then, as Boivin as leaving the area, police said he began cursing at the people who called in the animal abuse. He was arrested again and charged with breach of peace. He was released on $1,000 bond and ordered not to return to the property, police said.

Then, around 7:35, police were once again called to South Main Street. Boivin had returned to the property, police said, and they charged him with criminal trespass. Once again, he was released on $1,000 bond.

Boivin is due in court October 24.
