Middletown man gets more than year in prison for child porn possession

BRIDGEPORT — Federal authorities say a Middletown man is headed to prison for possessing child pornography.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said 27-year-old Paul Hubbard was sentenced to more than a year in federal prison after pleading guilty to the offense in July.

Authorities said Hubbard was arrested and charged in July 2015. They say law enforcement had seized about 354 videos and more than 6,000 images of child pornography found on two laptops and two external hard drives in his home.

Authorities said Hubbard’s arrest was a part of an investigation into a global online forum, called Playpen, through which registered users advertised, distributed and accessed child pornography.
