EAST HARTFORD–We have learned new information that could be related to Tuesday’s plane crash in East Hartford.
Just weeks before the “intentional” plane crash, the Joint Terrorism Task Force asked East Hartford Police to check out a local motel room, a federal source tells FOX 61.
In the room at the Madison Motor Inn, located at 393 Main Street, officers found a computer and several flight instruction documents. Sources say a man in his 20s was renting the room, and that he had been behaving strangely. Apparently, a motel manager told authorities about the odd man, who identified himself as a flight attendant and asked for total privacy from hotel staff. That request was denied.
The source tells FOX 61 he checked out of the motel in early September, and his current whereabouts are unknown.
Authorities did not connect this incident to the plane crash that occurred on Main Street in East Hartford this week. The Madison Motor Inn is about a block from where the crash site was, and across the street from Pratt & Whitney.
Authorities have said that a student pilot in the plane, Feras Freitekh, 28, was suicidal and got in an argument with flight instructor Arian Prevalla before the plane crashed. Sources told FOX 61 that it was not related to terrorism.
