GROTON — Police have charged a third suspect after a shooting took place at a restaurant earlier this month.
On October 2 around 4:40 p.m. a 17-year-old boy was shot in the abdomen in the parking lot for the 99 Restaurant and Pub, located at 117 Long Hill Road in Groton.
The investigation revealed that the shooting was not random and not at all connected to the restaurant. Witnesses saw two suspects running from the scene.
Within days of the shooting two 17-year-old were arrested and charged, and on Thursday, October 20, a third suspect was charged.
Timothy B. McKoy, 18, of New London, is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery in the first degree, accessory to robbery in the first degree and accessory to assault in the first degree. He was already incarcerated for an unrelated crime, and was charged when appearing in court.
All three suspects remain incarcerated.
