Person with serious injuries transported by Lifestar after crash on Route 15 south in Meriden

MERIDEN — The southbound side of Route 15 in Meriden was closed Wednesday afternoon following a serious accident, but has completely reopened.

It happened around 2:45 p.m. near Exit 17 off I-91 where the highway merges with Route 15.

The highway was shutdown while a LifeStar helicopter landed to transport an injured victim to the hospital. The highways reopened, but traffic was still backed up in the area for several hours.

One person had serious injuries.
