HARTFORD — A Hartford man who authorities said conspired with others to kill a witness in a drug case has been sentenced to life in prison.

The Hartford Courant reports a federal judge handed down the sentencing to 26-year-old Dominique Mack. Mack was convicted in April of two counts of conspiracy to commit witness tampering by committing first-degree murder.

Ian Francis was shot multiple times in December 2010, while sitting in his vehicle in Hartford. He died from his injuries the following month.

Prosecutors said Keronn Miller lured Francis to an area where Mack was waiting to kill him. Miller pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting the killing.

Authorities said Mack was involved in another plan to kill a witness in the Francis murder trial.
