Police said that at around 10 p.m. they were called to George Street, between Orchard and Day streets, for a reported shooting. The victim, Omar Gray, 42, of New Haven, said he was confronted by a gunman as he sat in his parked car, according to police.
Police said the gunman fired several times, hitting Gray in his right arm. Gray was found a block away after he’d run from the gunman, according to police.
Gray described the shooter as a dark-complexioned “young black man” who wore a black hooded sweatshirt, according to police.
Police said a motive for the shooting has not been determined.
