Pedestrian struck on section of Rt. 195 in Coventry

COVENTRY – A man was hit by a car Sunday night on Route 195 near the Coventry/Tolland town line and seriously injured.

Police said emergency crews responded to the Tolland Turnpike near the intersection with Dimock Road just before 8 p.m.

A car was heading north on Route 195 when it struck a man as he was crossing Jones Crossing Road.

Police said the victim was flown by Life Star to Hartford Hospital.

The road was closed for three hours but has since reopened.

The METRO accident reconstruction team was called to the scene and is currently investigating the crash.
