BETHEL – Police arrested a man Wednesday on several charges related to a disturbance at a polling place on Election Day.
Police arrested Brian Mansfield, 55 of Bethel, at home after they said he created a disturbance at a voting location by being disruptive with the polling staff, disturbing a Girl Scout cookie sale table, and intentionally knocking over polling location materials.
Police said he spat in the face of the arresting officer and when he was being processed at the station, he refused to be fingerprinted.
He was charged with assault on a police officer, refusal to be fingerprinted and breach of peace. He is scheduled to to appear in court on Nov. 22.
