State Police seek two persons of interest in Willimantic homicide investigation

WILLIMANTIC —  State Police identified two persons of interest in their  investigation of a homicide that was reported in Willimantic on Saturday.

Juan Chach, 24, and Ignacio Chach-Aperez, 26, are believed to be no longer in the area but are being sought by State Police.

Around 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning,  officers from the Willimantic Police department responded to 38 Pulaski Ct. for a disturbance. Officers located a male suffering from life-threatening injuries and provided aid. EMS also responded to the scene, and pronounced the male deceased.

State Troopers from Troop K responded and assisted Willimantic Police with the scene. No other victims were found.

Troopers and state police K9 teams also assisted Willimantic Police with searching the area for suspects.

Detectives from Eastern District Major Crimes were called in by Willimantic Police and the State’s Attorney Office, and assumed the investigation.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will also assist with the investigation to determine a cause of death.

The name of the victim will be withheld until the next of kin is notified.
