HARTFORD — A Wallingford woman plead guilty to narcotics distribution charges in connection with a heroin overdose death in May.

Brittany Esposito, 27, of Wallingford, pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of distribution of heroin. She could be sentenced to prison for up to 20 years. Her sentencing is scheduled for February 9, 2017. She is free on bond.

According to court documents, Esposito supplied heroin to a 26-year-old man in Old Saybrook who died of an overdose on May 14. His phone , several syringes, and an empty wax paper fold were found at the scene. The victim had been texting with Esposito. She was arrested in June.
