NEWINGTON — The Newington Knights Pee Wee Cheerleaders and midget football team hosted a pancake breakfast Sunday to help fund their upcoming trips.
The boys football team is headed to Indiana over Thanksgiving weekend and in December, the girls cheerleading squad is going to Florida.
And their vice president says both teams have a great chance of winning it all.
“I think Newington has a great chance, best I’ve seen them in a long time. The boys they went 9-1 this season, they have a solid team,” said Eileen Colonese.
So far the two teams have raised over $2,700.
But they need between $15,000 and 17,000 to split between them.
