Clinton, Waterford, Old Saybrook police investigating BB gun incidents

CLINTON–Police are investigating several instances of destruction of property in ClintonWaterford and Old Saybrook.

In Clinton on Sunday, the owners of at least six cars reported to Clinton Police that their cars had been damaged by BB guns. The cars had been in parking lots around Clinton, including at Shop Rite, Stop & Shop and at Clinton Crossings.

Police think the incidents occurred during the early evening hours.

Police don’t have a suspect description yet, and ask anyone who may have saw something to call police at 860-669-0451 or email smangs@clintonct.org or jdunn@clintonct.org.

Police are also looking into the possibility that these incidents are related to similar ones that occurred in Waterford on the same day. Those incidents occurred at the Crystal Mall, Dick's Sporting Goods, Home Depot and Lowes. Nothing was reported stolen from those cars, and the incidents occurred in the late afternoon and early evening.

If you have information on the Waterford case, please call police at 860-442-9451 or email mafedor@waterfordct.org.

Meanwhile, on Monday night several homes and cars in Old Saybrook were hit by BB gun pellets. Police said they came from a moving car, and they are trying to determine if the incident is connected to the other two. If you have information please call 860-395-3142.
