NEW YORK — One of two men who are facing charges related to the brutal killing of Joseph Comunale was released from jail on bond on Wednesday, according to the New York Department of Corrections.

Larry Dilione, 28, posted the $300,000 bond that was set when he was charged with hindering prosecution, concealment of a human corpse and tampering with physical evidence.

The other man charged in connection to Comunale’s death, James Rackover, remains in jail after being formally indicted on Monday.

Comunale, 26, of Stamford, was reported missing on November 13, and it was later determined that he had been killed that day in Rackover’s Upper East Side apartment after a night of drinking and partying in the city. Comunale’s body was found the next day in a shallow grave in New Jersey.

Comunale died after being stabbed 15 times, and bloody clothes and items were found in Rackover’s apartment. Comunale’s funeral was on Wednesday.

Rackover denies any involvement in Comunale’s murder and his lawyer said the case has “serious problems” and will be “vigorously” contested.
