MANCHESTER --  For the second time in his career, Ben True has won the Manchester Road Race. He also took home the crown in 2014.

It was a nail-bitter of a finish as an impressive field of elite runners battled for the end.

The Manchester Road Race course record is 21:19. That was not broken on Thursday, despite several Olympic athletes participating in the race.

2012 Champion Aaron Braun, Olympic Medalist Galen Rupp, 2-time Olympian from Glastonbury Donn Cabral, and Rio Olympics silver medalist  Paul Chelimo were runners to watch battle it out for the 2016 title.

Emily Sisson was the women's winner. The 25-year-old is an 11- time All American at Providence College and hold the national collegiate record for indoor 5000 meters.

Other female runners to watch included: 2-time Great Britain Olympian Elish McColgan, 2-time Olympic Champion Edna Kiplagat from Kenya, Jordan Hasay.
