Pet of the Week — Jack

HARTFORD -- Jack is about three years old. He's a mixed breed, maybe terrier, Dachshund, or who knows?

He was found by animal control in an abandoned apartment, his people left him behind.

Jack is a friendly, happy dog and  always has a smile on his face.

He has an infectious personality and is enthusiastic and loves people. He wants to be your shadow and your buddy.

He has good, moderate energy, so he loves a good walk, but also knows how to chill.

He’d be a great dog for adopters looking for an active dog capable of a good walk, but is not too large nor strong to handle.

He’s only about 15-20 lbs and walks brilliantly on the leash.

He gets along okay with other dogs when introduced properly, but he certainly prefers the company of people.

We’ve had him for MONTHS!  He, like many other black or dark brown dogs, gets overlooked in online searches because their pictures just don’t “pop.”

He’s a perfect little dog, and we just can’t fathom why people aren’t lining up for him.

We actually have a couple other little black dogs that aren’t being considered.  Bubba and Missy, also on our site and recently featured on Fox 61, are over looked and they are sweet little dogs.
