BRANFORD – A four-year-old Hamden boy has died in a crash that happened in Branford on Sunday evening.
Connecticut State Police identified the child as Jairus Benjamin of Hamden.
They said that around 7:30 p.m. Branford police responded to a crash on Route 1, East Main Street, near the Exit 55 off-ramp from I-95, for a two-car crash.
Several other people also suffered injuries and were taken to local hospitals. State Police are investigating the crash.
The off-ramp was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
