SOUTH WINDSOR — FOX 61’s Hope for the Holidays is to bring comfort and thanks to veterans who need our help this holiday season. We’re teaming up with the American Red Cross in collecting warm clothing and restaurant gift cards at The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk in South Windsor through December 6.

Wednesday, some familiar FOX 61 faces stopped by Evergreen Walk to thank people for their donations. Eddie Bauer is one of the stores participating as a drop-off location. The assistant manager there is a member of the Air Force National Guard in Connecticut.

“Being a veteran is very stressful and a lot of people don’t have families to come home to, they don’t have homes or jobs to come home to necessarily,” Angelina DiVacco said. “So it’s important to donate to them so they feel the support we give them.”

With help from the Red Cross, your donations will be given to homeless veterans at the South Park Inn in Hartford. We want to thank you for your generosity.
