HARTFORD -- The build is on in downtown Hartford -- After 7 years of shows, the LEGO KidsFest is back for its final run, and that means thousands of people are heading to the Connecticut Convention Center to play with millions of colorful bricks and blocks.

On hand at the Convention Center is 60-year old Dan Steininger, a Lego Master Builder who serves as both educator and ambassador at the popular expos.

"I get paid to play," said Steininger, who has been working as a Master Builder at the company's Enfield headquarters for 22 years.

Steininger, and his son Chris, are both Master Builders, two of only eight that LEGO employs.

"What we do as Master Builders is design the big models that go on display," Steininger said.

There are about 40 supersized LEGO models on the display floor for this year's LEGO KidsFest. From the out of this world roster of Star Wars to the high flying superheroes from Marvel Comics, Steininger has had a hand in creating the models -- as well as working on some of the scenes in the LEGO Movie.

"When you snap those bricks together, even at 60 years old, there is still something satisfying about it, it's like everything is right in the world."
