GROTON — Police arrested a man for allegedly selling forged concert tickets on Craigslist.

Groton Town Police said they arrested Fred T. Lyons, 23, of New York, and charged him with assault on a police officer, interfering with a police officer, conspiracy to commit larceny 5th degree and forgery 3rd degree.

Police said the received reports about fake tickets being sold on Craigslist for an event at one of the casinos nearby. When Lyons met with an undercover officer, he attempted to sell the fake tickets according to to police. When the officers identified themselves, the suspect ran off. He was captured after a brief chase and struggle, and one officer received minor injuries.

Police said there were other victims in the area and more arrests are possible.

Lyons was held on $50,000 bond.
