HARTFORD - Pecan is a dachshund mix. She is a spayed female, and is probably about 2-years-old.

She is one of the most unusual and cute dogs Protectors of Animals said they rescued in a while - she has an oddly large head for her little body.

She is lovable and very people-oriented and wants to be in your lap and in your sight all the time.

She is an adult, but still very puppy-like. She needs training, but on the upside, she trains easily, because she is so willing to please.

She has quite a bit of energy for a little girl so she will need a good daily walk and some playtime.

Her size and energy make her a great choice for someone who wants a larger dog, but needs a smaller one for whatever reason.

She gets along with other dogs, kids, and basically everyone. We're not sure about cats, however.

And POA Spay! will open early next year.
