HARTFORD — Police stormed an apartment and arrested two burglary suspects as two adults and a child hid in a closet upstairs Thursday.

Police said the suspects may be connected to a series of other burglaries in the area. They arrested Quan Baldwin, 23, of Hartford and a juvenile who’s name was not released. Both were charged with burglary, criminal/attempted larceny, criminal mischief, and possession of burglary tools. Baldwin was also charged with two counts of risk of injury since one of the residents that hid in the closet was a minor.

Police were called to 43 Theodore Napper Lane for a burglary in progress with the residents at home around 12:45 p.m. Detectives were also in the area investigating other burglaries nearby. They said they found the rear door had been forced open and the suspects were inside rummaging through the home and placing items in their backpacks. Police ordered the suspects to the floor at gunpoint and took them into custody. Two adults and a child had hidden in an upstairs closet during the incident and were unharmed.

Police are investigating whether the pair are involved in four other burglaries nearby on December 19 and 20 in which a gun, ammunition, an iPad, video games, mobile phones were taken.
