Norwich man who called 911 for roommate’s ‘suicide attempt’ charged with assaulting him

According to Norwich Police, on October 27 Norwich police and medics responded to an apartment on East Main Street. Police say they received a 911 call from Kristopher Prudhomme, 28, that his roommate was incoherent and had red marks on his neck. Prudhomme told the dispatcher he thought it may have been a suicide attempt.

The 35-year-old victim was taken to the hospital, but had to have both legs amputated and was in a medically-induced coma for several days.

After an investigation, police determined that Prudhomme was in fact responsible for the injuries. A warrant was issued for his arrest charging him with assault in the first degree, strangulation in the first degree, cruelty to persons and tampering with physical evidence.

Prudhomme turned himself in to police on Thursday and was released on $250,000 bond.

Lauren Muskus, 21, of Monroe, was also arrested in the case on charges of tampering with physical evidence. She was released on $25,000 bond.
