Man in critical condition after being shot in face while sitting in car in Hartford

HARTFORD — A man is in the hospital after a serious shooting Thursday morning.

At about 1:15 a.m., Hartford Police responded to an address on Adelaide Street after ShotSpotter picked up five shots being fired in the area. While responding, a report was made to police that a gunshot victim was in a building on Barker Street.

Police found the victim in a fourth-floor apartment, and saw he had six gunshot wounds to the entire right side of his body, including in his face. The investigation revealed that the man was shot while sitting in a parked car, but after being shot he got out and ran to a nearby apartment, where he was found.

Officers gave him medical attention while waiting for medical personnel.

The victim is in the hospital in critical, but stable condition.

Evidence was found at the scene and is being evaluated. Police ask that anyone who has information about the shooter(s) please call police.
