HARTFORD - David LoPriore of Warriors for Warriors stopped by FOX 61's Good Day Connecticut to talk about post-traumatic stress disorder.
Warrior for Warriors is a non-profit hoping to help by teaching "warriorship-based" holistic wellness programs.
Its health, wellness and medical services includes community acupuncture for veterans, including free individualized events offered at least twice monthly at the Community Center in East Lyme, and other locations, where veterans receive advanced auricular (ear) acupuncture treatment.
CAV is a very positive, easy first step for veterans wanting to try acupuncture for free. There is no paperwork or intake forms and no need to discuss physical or psychological symptoms in-depth. Veterans just come get acupuncture and become totally relaxed sitting next to other veterans. This is also a great chance to meet other veterans who have been through similar experiences.
To date, Warriors for Warriors has given over 1,200 free acupuncture treatments to veterans.
There are upcoming Warriors for Warriors events on Monday, January 9, from 7-9 p.m. and Monday January 23, from 7-9 p.m. at the East Lyme Community Center at 41 Society Road in Niantic. Call 860-739-5102, email WFWCAV@gmail.com for more information.
