CORNWALL -- While our winter season was fairly warm last year, this winter the cooler temperatures are great for ski mountains like Mohawk Mountain.
Employees at the ski mountain said the temperatures were too warm last year in December, so this year they were happy to be open before Christmas.
"Last year we didn't get going until January and then this year we're open before Christmas," Andy Raybould said, who's the snow sports director.
This year the mountain has already had snow, and skiers have been enjoying real snow combined with man-made snow.
"This season is a hundred times better than last year already," said Raybould.
Mowhawk is averaging about 2,000 skiers a day for the holiday week. They have nine trails open so far, with about 125 acres to ski on.
