PUTNAM -- A teenager is dead after a one-car crash in Putnam Monday afternoon.
Police say that around 11:45 a.m. Ryan French, 16, of Grosvenor Dale (a section of Thompson), was driving a 2014 Nissan Frontier on I-395 in the area of Exits 46 and 45 when he drove off the left side of the road into the shoulder and hit a railroad bridge support beam. It's unknown what caused him to leave the road.
French was killed in the crash.
Around 12:30 p.m. a single car crashed on I-395 southbound in the area of Exits 46 and 45. The left lane was closed as crews worked to clear the crash. Police tell FOX 61 a wreckage crew was sent to the scene to deal with the car.
