Police find 170 bags of heroin after traffic stop in Willington

WILLINGTON —  State police pulled over a vehicle for a equipment violation on the highway.

Police were monitoring I-84 in Tolland area around 9:15 p.m. on January 6, when they pulled the vehicle over on the Tolland Turnpike in Willington.

After speaking to the driver,  State police began to search the vehicle believing it contained drugs. While searching police were informed by the occupants not only were there were drugs in the car but they also were carrying drugs on them.Police found 170 bags of heroin in total after the search.

David Mcknight, the driver, and two passengers, Anthony Falzone and Ryan Lafountain are all from Danielson, Connecticut.  Falzone and Lafountain posted bail, while Mcknight is still being held on bond.

Mcknight is being charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell, while both Falzone and Lafountain are charged with possession of heroin.

All three men are awaiting their court appearances at Rockville Superior Court.
