OLD LYME -- State Police Troop F is investigating after two people were stabbed near an Old Lyme grocery store.
The incident occurred around 2:12 p.m. insidethe Big Y Supermarket plaza in Old Lyme, located at 90 Halls Road. The supermarket was closed for the investigation, state police said.
State Police say at least two people were stabbed. One person died, and another was taken to Yale-New Haven via Life Star with a serious injury.
Police say that this was not a random act, and the two people knew each other.
Identification is pending until next of kin is notified.
There is no threat to the public, police said.
