New Haven school bus rear-ended, students taken to hospital

NEW HAVEN — A school bus was involved in an accident in New Haven Monday morning.

The crash occurred on Foxon Boulevard and Quinnipiac Avenue.

The crash happened as the school bus was crossing over Quinnipiac Avenue and was rear-ended by a car, the school district said.

16 high school students were on board the bus at the time of the accident. The school bus was headed to Achievement First Amistad High School.

No injuries were reported at the scene but some students were taken to the hospital for evaluation, district officials said.

There is no word on what caused the crash. The area around the crash was closed for some time but has since reopened.
