Woman found dead in Bristol home, person of interest found dead in Hartford

BRISTOL -- Police said a man who killed himself in a Hartford hotel room is a person of interest in a Bristol homicide.

Bristol Police responded to a call of an unresponsive person on Timber Lane in Bristol Monday night at around 7 p.m.

They said when they got to the house, they found Gale McIntyre, 59, dead inside the home and police are investigating her death as a homicide.

On Monday just before 11:30 p.m. Hartford Police responded to a call to the Travel Inn Motel on Weston Street in Hartford to help Bristol Police find their person of interest. Bristol and Hartford police found Robert Newman, 44, dead of an apparent suicide.

The CT State Police Major Crimes unit is assisting Bristol police in the investigation. Bristol Police are asking anyone with information related to the homicide to call them at (860) 314-4566.
