MERIDEN — A former television meteorologist plead guilty to child pornography charges and will serve three years in prison in addition to 10 years probation.

Justin Goldstein, 34, of Hamden, was formally sentenced March 21. In a plea deal, prosecutors and Goldstein agreed to the sentence in exchange for pleading guilty.

In July 2016, State Police, along with the FBI, Homeland Security and the Hamden Police Department, executed a search warrant at Goldstein’s home in Hamden, as part of an ongoing child pornography investigation.

Police said the investigation began in June after video files of suspected child pornography were downloaded from the internet account assigned to Goldstein.

Police said Goldstein wasn’t home when they arrived and computers and computer-related equipment were seized from his home. Examination of that property on scene revealed files of suspected child porn.

Goldstein, was a meteorologist at WTNH in New Haven.
