UNCASVILLE — The Saint Bernard School in Uncasville will be hosting a community forum on the opioid epidemic in eastern Connecticut, on Tuesday, January 31, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Some of the presenters at the forum will include retired New London Police Captain Ken Edwards, pediatrician Dr. Walia, and Lisa Cote and Ashley Giordano from a non-profit organization called “Community Speaks Out.”

The Saint Bernard Headmaster Don Macrino said the forum is being help as part of the school’s service to the community.

He encourages parents, families, and members of the community to attend the presentation to learn about “the path which is incipient and often completely innocent that leads to opioid addiction.”

“We hear about the opioid crisis every day. The panel members’ expertise and personal experience provide a comprehensive look at this problem and offer hope for greater measures of prevention and help for those affected,” he said.
