WILLIMANTIC — Police have arrested one man after a home invasion that sparked a police presence Thursday morning on West Avenue in Willimantic.

Willimantic Police were at a house at 75 West Avenue at around 2 a.m. The homeowner told police three masked men entered the home and assaulted him. Police said he was not seriously injured in the home invasion, according to police.

There were police K9s involved and they were dispatched to a second scene on Trapella Road where a gun was recovered and Jonathan Cotto-Rubert, 31, of Willimantic was arrested. He was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and he was held on  $100,000 bond.  Police said he also has outstanding warrants with the Mohegan Tribal Police Department. Those bonds total $140,000.

Willimantic Police said the incident was not a random act and that there is no danger to the public.

Two teams of detectives are at both scenes and are expected to be there for several hours.
