NEW HAVEN — Six people were injured in an accident at Whalley Avenue and Fitch Street in New Haven, said Deputy Emergency Management Director Rick Fontana.

The crash happened Thursday morning around 8:15 a.m.

Two of the victims were taken to the hospital for minor injuries, according to Officer David Hartman, spokesman for New Haven Police. The other four refused treatment.

The crash involved a Connecticut Transit bus.

New Haven police urges drivers to stay off the roads unless travel is absolutely necessary. The city has a parking ban that includes all of downtown and only even side of the street parking where it is otherwise permitted in all other areas.

If your vehicle become stranded, you must arrange to have it removed quickly so city plow trucks can effectively clear snow from city streets, Hartman said.

It is unlawful to plow or deposit snow from private property on to a city street.
