STORRS — The UConn women were ahead of South Carolina by a score of 51-39 at end of the 3rd quarter.
The Huskies are going for their record-breaking 100th straight win, after beating the SMU Mustangs in their 99th win Saturday.
The score was back and forth during the first half. Gabby Williams scored 16 points and had 9 rebounds, and Sophomore Napheesa Collier scored 13 points and had 5 rebounds.
Tonight the Huskies have a chance to achieve the improbable century mark against South Carolina at Gampel Pavillon.
The last time they lost was in Nov. 2014.
The Gamecocks are considered the last big challenge in the regular season for 24-0 UConn.
Connecticut has won 60 straight games at home, well off their record of 99.
