PRESTON — State Police said a body was found along the Quinebaug River last Thursday is that of a Jewett City man missing since January.
Police said around 8:45 a.m. Thursday, Troopers from Troop E-Montville were called about a body of a white male that had been found in the area of 72 Roosevelt Ave Extension in Preston.
The man was identified as Patrick McCarthy, 32, of Jewett City. McCarthy was originally reported missing on January 1, 2017 by family members.
Police called the death untimely.
