NEWINGTON — The Newington Police Department said travel on the north and south sides of Main Street, from Cheney Lane to the intersection of Robbins and East Robbins avenues, was still restricted as of 7:30 Wednesday morning.

The travel restriction is due to emergency utility work being done due to a car accident. They said travel on Robbins or East Robbins is “flowing and open,” as well as southbound travel on Main Street from that intersection.

Police anticipated the intersection to be 100 percent complete around 3 p.m., and advise drivers to seek alternate routes.

There is no word yet on the extent of the driver’s injuries, or whether they will face charges.
