HARTFORD -- Fans got their first chance to see the new UConn Huskies under Randy Edsall in Friday's Blue-White game.

The 2017 UConn Football Spring Game took place on Friday night at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field. Team UConn defeated the Team Huskies, 27-24.

Hergy Mayala led all receivers with 111 yards on three catches, as redshirt freshman Keyion Dixon finished with 94 yards on five catches and junior Tyraiq Beals had three receptions for 68 yards.

It was the first time people got to see Edsall back on the sidelines. Edsall led the program from 1999 through 2010 before leaving for Maryland for the same position. He compiled a 22-24 record while leading the Terripans before being fired midway through his fifth season.

FOX61 is a proud sponsor of UConn athletics.
