HARTFORD -- State lawmakers from both sides of the aisle react to Governor Malloy's warning that he is preparing to order the layoff of as many as 4,200 state employees, unless their unions agree to $700M in contract concessions, to help balance the budget. They also share their opinions on bills to legalize recreational marijuana, authorize a third gambling casino, bring back highway tolls, require cities and towns to share in the cost of teachers pensions and redistribute state aid to cities and towns (giving much more to cities and much less to more well-off towns).
