Truck carrying 30k pounds of strawberries causes traffic jam in Old Saybrook

OLD SAYBROOK — Connecticut State Police said Route 9 south by the Interstate 95 north ramp in Old Saybrook was reopened just after noon Friday after a tractor-trailer truck carrying 30,000 pounds of strawberries rolled over.

Police said there was a minor injury due to the crash and the road was closed all morning.

Traffic was being diverted to I-95 south and police advised drivers to seek an alternate route.
