WEST HARTFORD — West Hartford police said a moving truck slipped, hitting the repairman working on it in West Hartford.

An employee of Woodland Moving on Reed Avenue, Daniel McKay, 46, of Windsor, was working on a mechanical problem with one of the company-owned freight trucks at around 7:45 Thursday morning, according to police.

Police said McKay was trying to diagnose the problem with the truck running when he got out and walked in front of the truck. Police said the truck was either not in gear or slipped out of gear and rolled forward, hitting McKay knocking aside.

McKay was cut on his head. He was treated on scene and taken to Hartford Hospital for an evaluation and treatment.

Another employee who was close by immediately got in the truck and stopped it from rolling any further, according to police.
