GRANBY — Granby police say they are investigating after a car struck and killed a pedestrian on East Street Tuesday night.
Police say Matthew Smith, 55, of Granby was leading an ox between fields when a 17-year-old from Granby struck him at around 7:30 p.m. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. The ox was also struck but it did not sustain serious injuries.
The teen driver was the only person in the car at the time and stayed at the scene. He was not injured.
Police say the incident remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed.
