NEWINGTON — FBI agents carried out an investigation Thursday morning at 285 Maple Hill Avenue in Newington.  The U.S. Attorney’s office told FOX61 this is narcotics related and the investigation is ongoing.

The owner of the home where the FBI raid took place said he has been renting to the family living there for roughly five years.

“It’s just a couple and two, three kids, they just have a daughter in like, I think in September,” Antonio Pizzoferrato said, adding he did not know why the federal agents were at the home.

“No, no, they didn’t tell me nothing. I was asleep, somebody knocked on the door, I came down, they say, you know, we have to come in, you know, they ask me who I was and that’s it! I say ‘what happened? What happened?’ They don’t tell me nothing,” Pizzoferrato said.

He said the family have been good renters through the years.

“I have no trouble at all, they nice family, nice young people, I had no trouble, I love them very much, and they pay the rent on time so what happened, and at this moment, I’m shocked, because I don’t know,” Pizzoferrato said.

FOX61 found out from Hartford police arrest records one of the tenants has been arrested on several drug charges. In 2006 that same tenant was charged with operating a drug factory.  Court records show that person plead guilty and received a suspended sentence.
