Real Story: Comptroller Kevin Lembo calls for pharmaceutical company investigation

HARTFORD -- State Comptroller Kevin Lembo explains his call for the attorney general's office to investigate a pharmaceutical company based in Ireland (a company previously based in the US).

Lembo, who oversees the health plan that covers state employees, retirees and their families, is questioning the very high prices the company is charging for medications that are essentially combinations of over-the-counter drugs.

He says it's suspicious that most of the prescriptions seem to come from only an extremely small number of prescribers, and are filled by only a couple of pharmacies.
