NEW HAVEN — An unarmed man with his hands in the air was believed to be on PCP when he asked officers “What did I do?” as they repeatedly fired taser shots at him inside a New Haven convenience store, according to the New Haven Independant.

The incident was caught on police body cam footage.

The footage was released to the New Haven Independent as a response to the Freedom of Information Act.

The video caused consternation within the department as some officers feared that other officers had mistreated the man, 36-year-old Rashae Jamaal King, and gotten away with it. Those officer’s fears led to a review of the incident by the department’s assistant chiefs.
