NEWINGTON -- Two teens and an unidentified suspect are in custody after an armed robbery in Vernon led police on a chase to Newington.
It all started just before 11 p.m. when Vernon police got a call reporting an armed robbery with a handgun shown in the parking love to Spare Time Bowling Alley.
Three people were seen taking off from the scene in a car, heading southbound on Route 83. Officers rushed to the scene, and began looking for the car.
A State Police trooper found the car on Route 30 in the area of Dobson Road in Vernon. They followed the car while it eventually entered I-84 westbound. Troopers tried to stop the car on I-84, but the car took off.
Troopers chased the car into Newington and onto the Berlin Turnpike, where it eventually crashed near Webster Street.
Two suspects, Joshua Dionne, 19, of Hartford, and Jerris Holloway, 19, also of Hartford, were arrested, while one other suspect bailed out of the car and took off.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
After searching all morning, officers from State, Wethersfield, Newington, and Berlin police searched for the third suspect using a police K9. The suspect was located this morning by Newington police and has been taken back to Vernon to face charges.
The third suspect has been identified as Charles J. Rivard, 22, of East Hartford. He was charged with robbery, larceny, forgery, drug possession, threatening, and conspiracy to commit robbery. Rivard is being held on a $250,000 bond. Police said he was on parole at the time of the offense and has been remanded to custody of the Department of Corrections.
Dionne and Halloway are both being held on a $250,000 bond and face charges including: robbery, larceny, forgery, possession of marijuana, and threatening.
They are expected in court tomorrow.
Police say this is still an ongoing investigation.
