Guilford — Coast Guard officials have confirmed that one person is dead after they fell near the Guilford Yacht Club Saturday afternoon.
Officials said eight people were in a barge on the Long Island Sound when it capsized around 2:30 p.m. Guilford Fire accounted for seven people and began to search for the eighth.
The Coast Guard assisted in the search for the missing person.
The body of a 32 year old man was found by Guilford Police, and confirmed to the be the missing boater.
Guilford Police are on scene investigating the incident.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
