NEW BRITAIN -- Two teens have been arrested after State Police said they stole a car in New Britain and led police on a 13-mile chase.

The stolen car had been spotted in Hartford Thursday morning, and a chase began onto I-84 west and Route 9 south. Hartford police called off the chase when the teens headed back to New Britain.

A short time later, New Britain police found the car. There was a victim inside the stolen car who had called police during the chase.

When State Police K9's arrived and tracked down the two teen suspects, the victim was able to positively identify them.

The two 17-year-olds  were charged with first-degree larceny of a motor vehicle and interfering with police.The case was sent to New Britain juvenile court.

There were no injuries or damage to property as a result of this incident.

The stolen 2013 Hyundai Sonata initially had three occupants. The third no longer wanted to be in the car once he realized it was stolen and called 911.

State troopers began following Hartford police around 2:45 a.m.
